Welcome and thank you for visiting as I venture into this world of blogging and sharing my story.

I’m excited (and nervous) but this is something I’ve been thinking about doing for some time and it’s pleasing to see it become a reality.

This first post will take you on a journey to help us get acquainted. First things first, pop on over to the About page and have a read. It might take a moment. Well more than a moment. I’m not particularly into brevity.

93 Frocks

So. 93 Frocks. Five different sizes. I know, kind of embarrassing and somewhat excessive. (Is it? We can talk about my shoes another time).

How did it come about, this weight loss one dress at a time thing?

Quite easy really. I had 93 frocks of which four fitted. Beautiful, gorgeous dresses.

Unwearable. Stuffed into suitcases, cupboards and those big stripy bags.

93 frocks take up an awful lot of space.

So when I started my journey in April 2013, it was fun to pull them out and see what fitted alongside shedding the kilos.

I hadn’t added up how many frocks I had before that (it was hard enough keeping them contained in storage spaces), but I went home to my family’s farm one weekend and pulled them all out to take a good look.

I still have this grubby envelope that I scrawled the sums on.

  • 27 size 22 dresses
  • 18 size 20 dresses
  • 26 size 18 dresses
  • 17 size 16 dresses
  • 5 size 14 dresses

(I just quickly added those up again. It would be a little mortifying to find that I created an entire website on the wrong number of frocks due to poor maths skills. All is well. 93 is still the correct number. )

I even joined Instagram at the time; you can see in my account that this was my very first photo. It was 50 weeks ago, posted in 15 June 2013, about 10 weeks into my healthy living project.

It took me a long time (here we are a year later) and a lot of work before I decided to back myself on this healthy living thing and start writing about it.

A long time before I felt that I would make it.

Tomorrow on the blog

How I got started.

If you’ve read my about page you’ll have seen that I, in no way, found my motivation and kicked my own backside into gear.

No I did not.

My friend did an *actual* intervention.

That’s a wrap

My countdown timer in the blog launch page says 1 hour and 17 minutes to go before my blog goes live, so it’s posting time!

I’m so excited! I’m looking forward to sharing and hearing your experiences.

I’d like to build a community of people here who are working on their own healthy living projects, whatever that means to them.

Thank you for reading.

If you like what you see here, please do share with others that might enjoy it.

Until tomorrow, my new Frock Friends.
